Imbue Wood, Malaysia, part of Abodo Wood International Ltd, specializes in thermally modified wood and serves growing global demand for sustainable, FSC-certified products. Following the acquisition of the thermal modification plant in 2023, the need for modernization became clear. The existing system required upgrades to its operational software, physical controls, and high-pressure mist system to improve efficiency, reliability, and process control. At the same time, Imbue Wood aimed to significantly reduce energy consumption and enable flexible, easy recipe customization while maintaining an environmentally friendly and low-maintenance operation. 

The Solution – What Jartek Delivered

 Jartek delivered a comprehensive automation modernization for the thermal modification chamber, including upgraded control systems, improved sensors, and enhanced data capabilities. The solution enables precise control of key process parameters, supports continuous monitoring and optimization, and ensures reliable operation in all conditions. Modernized electrical and automation components improved safety, while the system’s user-friendly interface minimizes manual intervention and reduces downtime. The result is a highly efficient and stable process, with significantly reduced diesel, water, and power consumption, as well as shortened production cycles and improved reporting capabilities to support global export requirements.
